Until fairly recently any person who portrayed concern about the degradation of the environment raised skeptical eyebrows. That's a thing of the past now, with everyone being aware of the problems besetting the planet as well as the shared responsibility we have for turning things around. The experts are agreed that we are unable to adjust things for the better without everyone's active participation. These modifications need to start happening, and each individual family needs to become more environmentally friendly. Read on for some methods to go green and save energy, generally in the kitchen.

Let's begin with something not that hard, changing the light bulbs. Complete this for the whole house, not only the kitchen. The normal light bulbs are the incandescent style, which really should be replaced with compact fluorescent lightbulbs, which save energy. They cost somewhat more initially, but they last ten times longer, and use a lesser amount of electricity. One of the extras is that for every one of these lightbulbs used, it signifies that approximately ten normal lightbulbs less will certainly end up at a landfill site. Coupled with different light bulbs, you have to learn to leave the lights off when they are not needed. In the kitchen is where you'll frequently discover members of a family, and often the lights usually are not turned off until the last person goes to bed. Obviously this also happens in some other rooms, not simply the kitchen. Make a routine of having the lights on only when they are needed, and you'll be amazed at the amount of electricity you save.

As you can see, there are lots of little elements that you can do to save energy, and also save money, in the kitchen alone. Environmentally friendly living just isn't that tough. It's related to being practical, most of the time.

The tea needed to be strong as you will add a lot of milk later..
  3. Add in milk, and let it simmer for another 10-15 minutes until tea look reduced..
  4. Turned off the heat and pour your masala chai to a mug with a strainer..
  5. Add your sweetener of choice and adjust to your liking (I am using brown sugar). Enjoy your fresh brewed masala chai tea..
  6. Note: Add more milk and less water if you want a richer/creamier taste. Or add less milk and more water if you want it less richer/creamier. I haven't tried it with plant based milk, but I am sure it should be fine too..
